Chimes Cheers – September 2024

Chimes proudly introduces Chimes Cheers, the recognition newsletter dedicated to celebrating the talents and achievements of our exceptional team members. Chimes Cheers recognizes our employees who live the five core values of Chimes as witnessed and submitted by their fellow colleagues.

Within each edition, you’ll discover new additions to our team, team member milestones, and be inspired by the remarkable success stories within Chimes.

Through this initiative, we aim to embody our mission, vision, and values, fostering a culture of celebration and gratitude. Together, let us honor our colleagues whose dedication empowers lives and enables the future of individuals with differing abilities.

Tracy Starks started February 2024 and has been a pure pleasure to work with every day. She’s helpful, kind, selfless, dependable, and reliable. She accepts and completes any task given with a smile. Never complains and is the best team player to her team. She gives Chimes Cheer every day! – Artisha Hall

I chose to cheer on Ronniece Snowden because she goes above and beyond for staff and individuals. Ronniece makes the work environment a better place with her smile, charisma, and bubbly personality. She has helped me and others and is always a call away if needed. She’s given so much of herself to Chimes, the individuals, and also staff. She deserves recognition for all her hard work and consistent dedication to making Chimes the number one place for individuals to still feel like family, loved, wanted, and appreciated, and for that, she deserves to be cheered on. – Damira Palmer

Willie Robinson has been great with the individuals since starting with Chimes at Thornbury Rd. He has been very dedicated to his 1:1 individual, who has autism. He also knows the ins and outs of the household and the individuals. – Arielle Washington

I would like to Cheer on Ernest Jackson, who I am so impressed by. This Chimes employee is friendly, clear, intentional, fun-loving, and dependable. He responds well to changes in various settings. He is a great teacher, and I enjoy learning from him. He is unlike any instructor I’ve had at Chimes. I know if I need anything, I can call him, and he will never make me feel bad for reaching out. – Ronniece Snowden

Shout out to O’Ryan Case, who has secured double the amount of donations for ArtFall for this year versus last year at this time!  His achievement is a great example of Chimes core value of QUALITY work. It’s going to be a great night! – Lindy Bowman

Huge Shout Out to the members of the Lehigh Valley Staff Advisory Committee (Sara Colfer, Rosemarie Roman, Jackeline Garcia, Alyssa Harvey, Emily Robie, Christina Rosick, and Paula Graner). Thank you all for your dedication and participation on this voluntary committee and being a voice for your peers. I appreciate each of you so very much. – Marissa Turner

Linda Reese is a joy to work with. She greets me every morning with a smile on her face. She is always helpful and kind. She makes Chimes a fun and lively place to work. She is the face of Chimes, and she welcomes everyone who visits. – Theresa Peddicord

Ms. Joy Yoshie Billings started in Nov ‘22 – since then, she has contributed loads of ideas, probably over 50+, with cost-saving suggestions for our facility. She builds a friendly and fun environment for our participants. With every idea, Joy submits a ton of “FUN,” like “Dicing to End of the Row,” “Walking Thru Zoo,” and the “Autism Puzzle Poster.” She also offers in-house Sign Language at the Front Desk.  – Adrian Garcia Diaz

Cheers to Marva Hursey for always being a team player. She gets her duties done in a timely manner and enjoys encouraging our individuals to make good decisions. She always keeps a smile on our individuals’ faces, especially when transporting them to day program, singing along the way. Keep doing a fantastic job! – Lisa Braggs

Since starting with Chimes and working at Courtleigh, Willie Robinson has been very helpful. He jumped into action on day one. He never tells me no but always says he will find out. I love how the individuals really look up to him, and he has been a great role model. – Stacy Scott

I submit a cheer for my teammate, Cassondra Cullin, who trained me when I started. She is amazing at what we do and she cares deeply for her family and cases. – Kathleen Morales

We really do have fun in the finance department, and Aggie Garner definitely adds a tremendous amount of fun to our team. She’s friendly and considerate, and she has good ideas & asks great questions. She’s definitely an asset to our team by creating a positive & fun environment every day! She’ll even dress up sometimes to show her pizzazz – I think she wore a crown & tutu on her birthday – so fun! Come see Aggie if you need a morale boost! – Hillary Skozilas

Luanna Straker, PM at USCG, has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She communicates any concerns and provides a viable and proactive solution. She strives for consistency in her performance and communication, which is well-received by leadership at both Chimes and USCG. – Jerry Shepard

I would like to cheer on a stellar employee that I think embodies what Chimes looks for in a DSP. Sade Aleem is attentive to her individuals and goes above and beyond in regards to direct client care. Sade is a true example of a Direct Support Professional at Chimes. She is responsible, accountable, and very proactive. I am fortunate to have learned from her, and the individuals are blessed to have her as a DSP! – Ronniece Snowden

Cheers to Anitra Gibson for always being available to help out at the last minute. She always speaks highly of her individual at her assigned house, Greengage, but when asked to cover at Western Run, she fell in love with those individuals, too. Thanks for supporting our individuals! – Lisa Braggs

Both of these leaders have been pillars in Delaware: July 2024 will mark 30 years for Delaware Division Manager Deborah Johnson, and March 2024 will mark 30 years for Delaware Tech Department leader Mike Dube.

I have worked with Willie Robinson at Thornbury Rd. Willie shows great care to the individuals and is genuine about the care he provides to them. – Bryant Foxworth

 

 

For the past 14 months, Ms. Kisha Core has led and supported the Residential Services Team seamlessly and efficiently in the absence of a director. Kisha has developed procedures and systems for this robust 24-hour, 7-day-a-week (43 Homes!) operation, empowering her direct reports to do their very best work! Kisha is very organized and prioritizes the critical needs of the department. Most recently, she has lent her expertise to assist with the Holcomb IDD homes in PA. – Chuck Budd

I would like to send a Super Cheer to Mr. Nyle Dixon. He has been a great asset to Chimes way before I started. He is very knowledgeable on all aspects of our environment and encourages you to learn more. His work ethic speaks for itself as a leader, and it will gravitate to you automatically. I would like to cheer on Lahaisona Waritay who has shown much growth during her time at Chimes. She continuously suggests new ideas, which streamline the process for a better workplace. Lala, you go girl! – Ronniece Snowden

Mrs. Tammy Johnson is an outstanding supervisor. She is very professional, knowledgeable about Chimes, and great at assisting with any questions or concerns that involve Chimes classes and educational questions. I really appreciate her dedication. – Tammy Johnson

I would like to nominate my coworker, Fausat Ademola. She is an excellent worker and goes beyond the call of duty at work. Fausat dedicates herself to the individuals at Vincent Farm Lane and other houses she works at. She helps prepare the meals for the ladies and assists with grocery shopping alongside the house manager. Fausat is a true example of a TEAM PLAYER. – Hassanah Abdullah

Willie Robinson is kind, caring, and compassionate. He’s really good at what he does. He goes above and beyond for the people we serve, connecting with them and treating them like family. He’s a good role model for the guys and is exactly what is needed. – Atiya Abdullah

Cheers to Caryn Crosby! She is always so helpful with any questions I have and is very responsive in her replies. It is appreciated when you are new and still learning things, especially in UKG. Thank you, Caryn! – Meghane Duvall

Megan Edwards has done a great job preparing for our new cook. She cleaned the entire kitchen, including the stovetop, backsplash, and under the griddle, without being asked. She went above and beyond to help our cook feel welcome, ensuring he is not coming into a dirty workplace. Thanks, Megan! – Evan Harbaugh

Thank you to the Phoenixville Clubhouse, Newlin House, and the Chimes Development Team for putting together such a fun Art Day for our Clubhouse and Newlin members! Everyone had a great time, and it was fun to see everyone come together and express their creativity! – Carolyn Lavella

I would like to Cheer on my coworker Chyna Palmer, who is new to Chimes. She came in with an open mind and heart. She is a fast learner and willing to assist when needed. She is very dedicated to her individuals and truly understands “community engagement” and why it is so instrumental to the persons we serve. Sarah Booen has done an amazing job getting all schedules into WFM for all of DE and the Holcomb IDD program! Sarah’s dedication to Chimes and to making sure the people we support have the staff they need in place is truly remarkable! – Justine Duffy

Christine Bentley exhibits exceptional dedication and compassion in her role, ensuring seamless support for individuals and staff. She streamlines admission processes with ease, providing prompt and effective services. Christine is readily accessible, responding to staff and family inquiries even outside of working hours, guaranteeing timely and efficient resolution. Her collaborative approach makes her a pleasure to work with. – Ann Skinner

I would like to give a huge shout out to Kelly Hyneman from Chimes/Holcomb Wyomissing. Kelly is a staple to all three programs housed in our building. We would be lost without her vast knowledge and longstanding expertise as a CSS! Her sheer grit and tenacity, as well as her 26 years of quality care with the company, is impressive. Kelly, we thank you abundantly for all you do! – Amy Sobel

I would like to cheer on Sabrina Annan that I believe takes her job very seriously. I have learned so much from this staff as a house manager. In her role as a house manager, she has helped me realize my true potential and helped me realign my goals here with Chimes. I thank her for her attentive role in my growth within Chimes by offering me creative solutions and useful feedback. – Ronniece Snowden

Marlene Hall is a great supervisor! She works with her staff and doesn’t micromanage. She encourages her staff to be better by teaching them new skills and including them in new projects. She goes above and beyond for her team, keeping them motivated and feeling appreciated. She uses mistakes as a learning tool and is very understanding. – Lynette Brown

Thank you, Jennifer Smith, for collaborating with Recruiting during our Maryland Job Fairs. Jennifer assisted with set-up, creating a fun ambiance, and directing attendees during the job fair. Her professionalism and ability to jump in where needed are always appreciated. – Charisse Phillips-Benton

Atiya Abdullah is very helpful with the individuals and staff. When you need assistance, she knows a lot about the company due to the length of time she has been here. Atiya provides excellent care and shows compassion in her job. – Willie Robinson

I would like to cheer Telia Parker who doesn’t need any steam. She is a great staff member on her own. TP is the DSP that Chimes refers to in the employee handbook. She is by the book and always in compliance. If you were lucky enough to be trained under this DSP, consider yourself very well trained. – Ronniece Snowden

Chimes Delaware hosted a fun-filled carnival day last Friday. The people we support in our day program were thrilled with a wide array of carnival games, fun activities, face painting and delicious food prepared by members of our senior leadership team!

It is hard to believe that August was Back to School time already for students and staff at The Chimes School!
